10th Anniversary Dinner - Ten Years of Love

August 15, 2006

May 19th, 2006 was an evening of reminiscing ten years of
love as over two hundred of Proyecto Fe (PF) supporters,
participants and our missionaries from Guatemala met at
Grace Christian School (GCS) for an evening of fellowship.

The evening commenced with a welcome from Joe LoMonaco,
Founder & Executive Director of Proyecto Fe, and the
blessing of the dinner catered by Wayne’s Texas Bar-B-Que.
As the guests were seated for dinner, a photo slide show
displayed images of Alaska missionary teams, Guatemala
missionaries, and the people of Guatemala that Proyecto Fe
has ministered to over that last 10 years. Many in the
crowd smiled or commented as they recognized themselves or
those they knew in the photos.

The entertainment began with a beautiful Mayan song
presented by Ester Battz, Pamela Chevalier, Linda Battz,
Fabiola Cholotio, and Jullissa Navichoc Batz. All of whom
were dressed in traditional Mayan dresses. Mary Bolin gave
a charmingly funny introduction for guest speaker, Lt.
Governor Loren Leman. Pastor Emilio Batz and his wife
Ester spoke at length at the impact that Proyecto Fe has
had in their community and how God has richly provided for
their ministry’s needs over the last 15 years, after which
they presented Proyecto Fe with a hand made tapestry of
gratitude for its contributions to their ministry.

After a short Proyecto Fe DVD clip on child sponsorship,
the evening had it’s moments of tears as Linda Battz,
Jullissa Navichoc Batz, and Fabiola Cholotio spoke about
the child sponsorship program. There was not a dry eye in
the house as each young lady spoke directly from their
hearts of the love and blessings they have received through
Proyecto Fe’s child sponsorship program.

Intermittently through out the evening, photo slide shows
set to music would transition one speaker to another. A
slide show of a family-oriented short term mission trip,
set to a little girl’s angelic voice, created a seamless
transition for Dana Bertolini’s message on the impact that
Proyecto Fe has on Alaskan youth. His message was fun,
informative, and touching as he shared how young hearts are
lovingly broken and molded by God for a life-changing
experience that leads to a lifetime service to God’s
commission, by modeling Christ’s character and living the
message to those in need. Leo Masters & Amy Gobroski
facilitated a mime presentation by the GCS youth of how
Jesus changes and heals those with wounded hearts.

Recognition and awards were given to missionaries,
volunteers, and to a surprised Joe LoMonaco. The evening
started to wind down as Pamela Chevalier gave a missionary
message and presented Proyecto Fe a framed, hand-drawn,
object of art and gratitude. The evening ended with a
heartfelt thank you from Joe LoMonaco and a final photo
slide show of the 2002 Youth Mission Trip set to music of
“In My Father’s House”.

Thank you again to all those who have contributed to
Proyecto Fe over the last ten years. Together Proyecto Fe
contributors were able to create a night to celebrate ten
years of loving memories and affirmation of God’s hand on
this ministry. Dios te Bendiga.
