Child Sponsorship - It Works! Letter from Mariela
August 15, 2006
Mariela is another young lady who was sponsored in her
youth by Joe LoMonaco. He sponsored Mariela in 1991 and
has maintained his correspondence & relationship with her,
even after her sponsorship ended in 2000.
Mariela has been to Alaska on two occasions and is able to
visit Joe on his trips to Guatemala. She is an incredible
example of a “program that works”. Mariela has gone from a
child in poverty to a productive young wife, mother of two,
has a career as a lab technician in a hospital, and is a
pillar in her church congregation. In her note to “Daddy
Joe” below, she expresses her appreciation for Proyecto Fe
and her desire to give back to the organization that helped
change her life.
Letter from Mariela:
May the Lord Jesus bless you. I am happy that all is well
with your health. I am also happy that you are completing
another anniversary year for Proyecto Fe. I GIVE THANKS TO
THE MERCY OF GOD THAT PROYECTO FE CONTINUES AS AN
ORGANIZATION, BECAUSE HE HAS GREAT PURPOSE FOR EACH
SUPPORTER OF PROYECTO FE.
I know that you miss me and that you would like for me to
be present at the developments (10th Anniversary Dinner),
but it is not possible. But, I imagine that at this
moment, you are very happy. Reading your e-mail, the Lord
has placed in my heart to ask you, as a representative of
Proyecto Fe, if you would allow me to be come a sponsor of
Proyecto Fe and allow me to make an offering of Q100 ($13)
monthly, beginning at the end of the month of June. Please
tell me how to make my monthly donation to Proyecto Fe.
I share with you that this year has been a year of
blessings in every area of my life from the Lord for my
family. The Lord has placed in my heart to sow in fertile
soils and Proyecto Fe is good soil for sowing. I have
learned much from you in respects to sowing. Thank you for
your examples and advice. I love you so very much.
