Please pray for beautiful Lake Atitlan. An invasive and fast growing blue green algae bloom is quickly spreading and infecting the beautiful lake. This algae is toxic and contains cyanobacteria. It is the result of mistreatment and abuse to the lake. The government and the people in the 12 villages surrounding the lake are finally realizing that their actions have consequences and are working on clean up and prevention activities. Please pray that God will heal the lake!! Pray for continued awakening to the responsiblity we have to care for God's creation. Please pray that God will guide and gaurd the people of the lake as they deal with this crisis. Pray for divine health and protection!
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14. Pray for this repentence, forgiveness, and healing!

God is so faithful to us; He promises to protect us and He fulfills His promise.
We had a very serious accident at the school this afternoon. One of the girls in Primero Basico, fell from the second floor railing to the cement ground on the first floor, cutting open her left shin as it was cut into by the step on the first floor. The hit was so hard that it shaved a piece of her shin bone right off. She smashed the front top of her head as she hit the cement ground.
She remained conscious through the entire ordeal, basic neurological tests indicate that she is okay. She is responding normally. She has been stitched up and tomorrow will go in for a type of CAT Scan and X-rays.
We give thanks to God that Dr. Israel was able to respond to us/her so quickly. He was in his clinic in San Juan and rushed to meet us at the First Baptist Church Clinic here in San Pedro. He said knowing from where she fell from, he never imagined to see her in such good condition.
Please continue to pray for our safety here in San Pedro, especially at Colegio Bethel.
Thanks so much. Pamela

Please pray for the Proyecto Fe Board of Directors who are in Guatemala inspecting the work being done at the school and mountain ministries. Pray for them as they have several meetings with the leaders in San Pedro and discuss how God wants them to respond. That they would be able to maintain and develop the relationships in the area and with those connected to the work there. Pray for the discerment and clairty as they will be making a lot of decisions and the desire is that they be in line with Gods will and direction for the ministry. (They return to Alaska April 12th.)

The house of sponsor child Sandra Lizet Ajpixila Ramos burned down 2/12/09. The Proyecto Fe mission team was able to go and support and encourage the family the next day. The family was crying and very sad. The 1 and 3 yr old brothers are in the hospital due to fire related issues. And the mother is in the hospital for another unrealted issue. There are several other children in the home and the community is trying to help them. However, Proyecto Fe will work to channel support and help rebuild the wood stucture. Proyecto Fe will oversee this project and direct the funds donated to see a new home constructed. The March mission team will begin this project in 3 weeks. (Donnations can be mailed to the Proyecto Fe office or you can call the office to make a credit card donation over the phone. ) Please pray for this family and the team as the minister to them in March. They are going through so much emotionally, spiritually and have obious physical needs for healing and provisions physically. Their home was completely destroyed.

8/7/08 From Mission Network News:
Guatemala (MNN) -- The president of Guatemala has declared a state of emergency due to excessive rainfall. The rain has caused mudslides, collapsed roads, and flooded rivers in many remote areas. It is difficult for residents to find food, water, and shelter. Pray for comfort for those families who have lost everything due to the storms. Orphan Outreach based in Dallas, Texas is partnering with ministry programs in Guatemala City, as well as working in the communities of Panabaj, Pacux and Lemoa. Pray that their staff may be able to reach out with the love and comfort of God during this difficult time in Guatemala.

6/11/08 REASON FOR PRAISE!!!
Just in case any of you wonder if God´s hand is upon us...IT IS and I can testify to it.
Today, we, the morning teachers were all preparing for this big event that starts tomorrow morning at 8. I was on the 4th floor installing "curtains" using a tool for putting in gromets...it is a pretty heavy piece of metal, it was pretty windy and a good gust of wind pulled the tarp with the tool in it out of my hand and off the edge of the fouth floor "window sill"!!! It was about 4:15 in the afternoon, the significance of that is it was recess for BASICO kids...you can imagine what went through me as I watched that tool drop through the air and hit the ground below...NO ONE was hurt or affected by what had just happened.
Thanks be to God for His great protection us and mercy upon us.
