8/7/08 From Mission Network News:

Guatemala (MNN) -- The president of Guatemala has declared a state of emergency due to excessive rainfall. The rain has caused mudslides, collapsed roads, and flooded rivers in many remote areas. It is difficult for residents to find food, water, and shelter. Pray for comfort for those families who have lost everything due to the storms. Orphan Outreach based in Dallas, Texas is partnering with ministry programs in Guatemala City, as well as working in the communities of Panabaj, Pacux and Lemoa. Pray that their staff may be able to reach out with the love and comfort of God during this difficult time in Guatemala.

 6/11/08           REASON FOR PRAISE!!!

Just in case any of you wonder if God´s hand is upon us...IT IS and I can testify to it.

Today, we, the morning teachers were all preparing for this big event that starts tomorrow morning at 8.  I was on the 4th floor installing "curtains" using a tool for putting in gromets...it is a pretty heavy piece of metal, it was pretty windy and a good gust of wind pulled the tarp with the tool in it out of my hand and off the edge of the fouth floor "window sill"!!!  It was about 4:15 in the afternoon, the significance of that is it was recess for BASICO kids...you can imagine what went through me as I watched that tool drop through the air and hit the ground below...NO ONE was hurt or affected by what had just happened.

Thanks be to God for His great protection us and mercy upon us.

3/08    Please pray for each family who had stoves installed in their homes with recent mission trips. Stoves were placed with the very poor families and many of them are not believers. This is a great opportunity for the Lord to move the hearts of the people to show Himself glorious. Pray for the April and June Mission teams to be bold in sharing the gosple as they interact with the families. Pray for the seeds to grow deep in the hearts of each family member. Pray for the team members character reflect a deep love and that  may bring about conviction that leads to repentance.

Please pray for the Proyecto Fe Board as they over see the ministry. The board members include: Joe LoMonaco, Jorge Martinez, Max Bolin, Tom Plooy and Sonny Burnett.

Please pray for Pamela Chevalier as her work load of organizing stove meetings and coordinating the families, work teams and translators is in full swing. Pray for her to be strengthened and encouraged by the response of the familes in San Pedro.

Armando Chavajay Quiacain - Teacher

Armando was the Computer Teacher at Colegio Bethel.  (He also graduated from Colegio Bethel, finished his studies in the city and then came back to San Pedro to serve in his community). He started the year with us again this year, however, was absent due to illness these last couple weeks.  He complained about a great deal of pain in his back.  He was diagnosed with Bronchitis.  His treatments were not helping much and Thursday night left San Pedro in the ambulance.  Friday morning after a series of tests was diagnosed with Lukemia and transfered to the hospital in Guatemala City.

He never made it, he died about 30 minutes outside of the city.  Armando was married and has a little girl, just over a year.  Armando's Dad and brother were killed several years ago in the terrible bus accident.

Please pray for Armando's family, his mom, little brother:  Omar and sister: Juana Balvina.  Please pray for his wife and little girl too.

Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.  Pamela 2/9/2007

Pamela Chevalier - Missionary Serving in San Pedro

Update:  Pam is looking for a suitable replacement for her vehicle.  We have started a fund to help her purchase another vehicle this winter.  Please pray for the fundraising and for Pam's safe travel as she comes to Alaska in November & will return to Guatemala in December.

7/31/07:  Please pray for Pam's safety and provision of a new vehicle.  Her vehicle was stolen while she was running errands in Guatemala City.  She is okay, but a little shaken.  Please pray for God's peace & for provision of an adquate vehicle for her missionary work.

1/1/07:  My prayer request...last year when I was in Alaska, I had my right arm and my left wrist looked at, my left wrist has healed and I have had no further problems.  My right arm however still remains a problem for me.  In July I had the joint in my elbow infiltrated and it got better for a few months.  Recently it has progressed worst than before and Friday I had it infiltrated again.  If this does not work to heal it completely I will need to have a surgery to "shave" a bit of bone the two that make up the joint in my elbow.  Please pray for God's healing and my patience in not using my arm during this healing process.  Pamela

Please pray an ongoing prayer for the safety of our missionaries serving abroad.

Reyna Isabel Campa Santiago(GU-100-483) - PRAISE & Continual Prayer

Update, 6/25/2007:  Reyna is recovering.  The June mission team brought down both a wheelchair & walker for her to use.  It may be a long recovery, but your prayer do make a difference!  Please continue to pray for Reyna' healing.  Reyna is continuing to reflect His image during her recovery.

Update, 2/14/2007:  Reyna has taken her first steps.  She is in physical therapy and is doing well.  She has a great therapist who assures her that worst cases reach their goal and she can too!  To God be the glory!

Update, Jan 07:  Reyna was able to go home this month!   She is living in Guatemala City with her mother, to be close to the hospital for outpatient care.  She celibrated Christmas in the hospital and received her Christmas presents and cards.  Please continue to pray for her healing.

Original prayer:  Please pray for the Reyna, who was in a serious car accident in 2006.  Her recovery is slow and painful.  Please pray that God heals her body, removes any negitive emotions or thoughts, and blesses her with a life that glorifies Him.  She is a sweet and Godly young lady.  Please remember her in your prayers.

Proyecto Fe Ministry

1/1/2007:  Please pray for the Proyecto Fe ministry: for the board of directors, staff, missionaries, associated ministries, children & families that we serve, mission trip teams, volunteers, service programs & financial provision.

Please pray that 2007 will be a year blessed abundantly by God to serve those He has placed into our stewardship of ministry.  The Lord has chosen and called those to work in His ministry and those He has chosen to bless. Please pray that the ministry continues to follow His leading.  Please pray for those He has brought to the ministry and continual blessings for those He has lead to other ministries.  Thank you for your prayers; you are moving mountains!

3/29/2007:  PRAISE!  God has opened doors and the ministry will be moving to 1884 E. 3rd Avenue.  Blessings to those who have donated reduce office space, office furniture & help with the move.  God bless you all abundantly!

Original request 3/5/2007:  Please pray for guidance on God’s will for the ministry in relation to having its’ own ministry office.  Currently, PF is renting a small amount of space in a non-Christian commercial real estate office and therefore incurs very little rental space expenses.

PF is growing and so is the need for office space & the ability to “openly” minister while working.  Please pray if it is God’s will to PF to have its own ministry office and if so, for God to provide the approximately $500+ for rental expenses per month. Thank you for your prayers!
