Feb 2008 Trip

Sunday Feb 17:

Greetings to All~    We have all arrived save and sound. Very happy to arrive and settle in at San Pedro after the very long trip. God is so Good. What a welcome we came to at the dock....lots of hugs, and kisses and children everywhere. Friday night we had a first chance to meet with our sponsor children and have dinner with them. Saturday night was our chance to meet our sponsor's children's parents....what a blessing.

We are all working together to learn how to put together the stoves. We are to be tested on Monday. Keep us in your prayers as this is very important to the familes recieving the stoves. We had a chance to meet with the local team, without interpreters, we had no problems with communicating and the Mayan women can handle those 160 lb stone tubs without any help. Sort of puts us women to shame. What a blessing just the same.

Wednesday Feb 20:

Greetings to All~  Another day is just about gone by and our departure is just a few days away. God has been so good and the team is doing well. We are a bit tired and our feet are feeling the affects of walking all over San Pedro doing home visits, putting in stoves, doing vitamins and uniforms with the children. While we maybe physically tired, we are spiritually well and blessed.

Many of us have been moved during our home visits and working with the familes putting in stoves. We have heard many stories of needs and our hearts have been humbled during many visits. The needs are so great and there is still so much to do, but Our God is so amazing...He knows those needs and he has already set the wheels in motion to meet those needs.

We have some issues with the stoves, wrong parts etc. ..but we are working strong as a team to solve problems. We have a total of 4 stoves completely in from yesterday an dtoday it looks like with a little more work we will complete another 4 stoves. Tomorrow we work to complete 4 more stoves in the afternoon and inspect and give water purification systems to each home.

(Please call the office to submit a high light experience from your trip or email Jill so we can add it to the site.)
